Our Physicians

Dorothea Downey, MD FAAP

Dr. Dorothea Downey graduated from Manhattanville College Of the Sacred Heart in Purchase, NY and has an MD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA and Cardinal Glennon Memorial Hospital for Children in St. Louis, MO. Subsequently, she did a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Downey is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She holds a teaching position as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. She belongs to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Buffalo Pediatric Society, the Erie County Medical Society and Community Pediatrics Association where she holds the position of Treasurer. Dr. Downey also enjoys spending time with family, traveling, playing tennis, golf, skiing, and watching college football.

Myron Siegel, MD FAAP

Dr. Myron Siegel graduated from Columbia University and received his MD degree from New York University School of Medicine.  He completed his pediatric residency at SiegelChildren's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL and did a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo.  He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds a teaching position as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.  Dr. Siegel actively participates in medical student and resident teaching at the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo.  He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Buffalo Pediatric Society, the Erie County Medical Society and Community Pediatrics Association, where he presently serves as President.  When not practicing medicine, he enjoys American History, baseball and traveling off the beaten path looking for quilt shops with his wife Sylvia.

Marilyn Barker, MD FAAP

Dr. Marilyn Barker graduated magna cum laude from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. She received an MD degree from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Barker completed a fellowship in Developmental Disabilities sponsored by the NYS office of Mental Retardation and Developmental barkerDisabilities and the Robert Warner Rehabilitation Center of the Children's Hospital of Buffalo. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her work experience has included providing pediatric care to medically underserved areas while serving in the United States National Health Service Corps. She has also worked with "special needs" children at Our Lady of Victory Infant Home, NYS School for the Blind and the WNY Children's Psychiatric Center. She holds a teaching position as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Barker is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Buffalo Pediatric Society and the Erie County Medical Society. She is a former board member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped. She also enjoys cooking (Pierogi is her specialty), gardening, ballet, opera, equestrian activities and travel.

Anju Gupta, MD FAAP

Dr. Anju Gupta graduated from MBBS South Gujarat University, India and completed her guptapediatric residency at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She has worked at Marion Pediatrics in Fairhaven, MA and was a Neonatal Hospitalist at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and The Children's Clinic in West Memphis, AR. She earned a gold medal in Bio-chemistry and Opthamology, and received the Achievement Award at Crittenden Regional Hospital. Dr. Gupta has published in Pediatrics In Review. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Buffalo Pediatric Society and the Erie County Medical Society. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cycling and hiking

Nurse Practitioners

Beth M. Nicastro, CPNP, MS

Beth M. Nicastro,graduated with a B.S.N. from D'Youville College in Buffalo, bethNY and received her M.S. in Child Health & Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Beth is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in theSchool of Nursing at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She holds an ANCC certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and is an author on various professional publications. Beth is our designated asthma provider  who performs pulmonary function testing in the office and coordinates patient asthma care.  She is a member of the NYS Nurse Practitioner Organization and NAPNAP Western New York Chapter. Beth and her husband are active members of St. Mary's Parish in Lancaster.

Ellen Hayes, RN, PNP, IBCLC

Ellen Hayes graduated with a BSN from Alfred ellenUniversity and received her MS in Child Health & Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Ellen is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is a member of National Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates. She is involved in the community as a Lactation Consultant and member of NAPNAP. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, biking, hiking, skiing and cross-country skiing.
